Learning to walk alone

May 2nd, 2008

It has been a while that I have to spend a weekend by myself all alone. Sitting alone in front my macbook alone in the house, smelling the slightly sweet vanilla scent from the candle next to my bed, I am writing down things to do for the weekend… lots of things to do. Because I am intending to keep myself busy, so that I do not feel quite bothered by the fact that I am alone.  If think again, you will realize that we are always just by ourselves in life. There are people walking beside us for periods of time, but ultimately we are always walking on our own. So, I am just going to learn to enjoy walking alone this weekend.

i carry your heart

March 24th, 2008

Recently came across this poem and like to share it with those who i carry in my heart.

******************************************

i carry your heart with me
i carry it in my heart

i am never without it
anywhere i go you go, my dear;
and whatever is done
by only me is your doing, my darling

i fear no fate
for you are my fate, my sweet
i want no world
for beautiful you are my world, my true

and it’s you are whatever a moon has always meant
and whatever a sun will always sing is you

here is the deepest secret nobody knows
here is the root of the root
and the bud of the bud
and the sky of the sky of a tree called life;
which grows higher than soul can hope or mind can hide
and this is the wonder that’s keeping the stars apart

i carry your heart
i carry it in my heart

Being rational is not an priority

March 8th, 2008

Today is March, 8, international women’s day. Although it is not a public holiday in the States, but it is in China and many other countries in the world.

Anyway, got a phone call from a friend and she shared with me a great surprise: she just found out that she is pregnant. I immediately started a crash course for her based on my one-time only and limited experience. While going through the long and crazy list of foods that she “should” eat during this special period of time, she obviously suspects if all of these foods have staticially significantly impacts on improving the baby’s health, understanding she is an Economist by training.

I had to be honest to her: ” listen, being rational is not an option for a mother.”Although I do not think the eating a spoonful of black sesame really helps with my baby’s hair, I did it anyway.

So, maybe mothers did not choose to be rational, becasue this is not the top priority for being a mother. That also applies to wifes, girlfriends, and any women who understands the priority of love. Happy women’s day!

It starts here…

(Galveston, TX)

It is still a bit chilly in early March this year. Sitting back in Starbucks and looking over the dock, of course sipping my sugar-free, non-fat, half and half, upside-down, no-whip, extra-hot grand Caramel Macchiato ( I am usually not very picky, promise), life is just simply perfect and I decided to take a chance to start a blog.

I am never a blogger, actually I never keep any sort of journal , except when I was forced to keep one in my elementary school. I feel my thoughts are rather random most of the time, but my mom has always been encouraging me to write them down. So, I decide to give it a try today.
